IT Support Specialist

Full Time

Reporting to: Director of Finance & Shared Services
Location: Hybrid working with a requirement to be onsite at least 2 days a week, with additional onsite presence for IT support as needed.

Job Summary
GIY is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team (or as we like to call it, our IT Coordinator). They will be responsible for providing technical support, managing and maintaining our IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our computer networks and systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can solve problems quickly and efficiently, with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Shared Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide first-line support to employees experiencing technical issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems
  • System Maintenance: Regularly maintain and update computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure
  • User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in various systems.
  • Network Administration: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Software Installation and Updates: Install, configure, and update software applications as needed
  • Hardware: Maintain and support all company hardware including laptops, tablets, phones and printers
  • Data Management: Assist with centralising customer data
  • Backup and Recovery: Ensure data backup procedures are followed and assist in data recovery when necessary
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of technical procedures, system configurations, and support activities
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to staff on the use of IT systems and software, including new starter setups
  • Compliance: Manage IT security policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of company data and systems from threats. Oversee GDPR compliance
  • Project Support: Assist with project management – creating action plans, tracking progress, resolving issues, system upgrades, migrations and new technology implementations
  • 3rd Party Agencies: Act as the main point of contact with any 3rd party IT agencies

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role
  • Education: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems
    • Experience with network management and troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
    • Familiarity with server administration (e.g. Windows Server)
    • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus
    • Understanding of IT security principles and practices

Salary:

Salary range of €30,000 – €35,000 per annum depending on experience.
